Proton Saga Price in Pakistan 2026: All Variants

The Proton Saga is the cheapest way to get into a brand new sedan in Pakistan. It is built locally by Al-Haj Automotive at its Karachi plant, which keeps the price well below the big names from Honda and Toyota. In 2026 the car is sold in three variants: Standard MT, Standard AT and Ace AT.

Current Proton Saga price in Pakistan (ex-factory):

Variant Ex-Factory Price
Proton Saga 1.3L Standard MT Rs 3,749,000
Proton Saga 1.3L Standard AT Rs 3,949,000
Proton Saga 1.3L Ace AT Rs 4,099,000

These are ex-factory prices, so the on-road cost is higher. Registration, token tax and withholding tax add to the bill, and rates differ from city to city. As per dealer listings on Gari.pk dated early October 2026, the on-road price in Karachi for the Standard MT works out around Rs 4.06 million for filers, while the Standard AT lands near Rs 4.10 million. Check with your nearest Proton dealership for the final pay-order figure before booking.

What the Proton Saga offers

The Saga runs on a 1,299cc four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out about 91 hp and 120 Nm of torque. Proton downsized the engine from 1,332cc for Pakistan to get better tax treatment, which is one reason the car can stay cheap. You get a 5-speed manual on the Standard MT and a 4-speed torque-converter automatic on the two auto variants. The engine is not the strongest in the class, but it is a simple, proven unit, and owners report fuel economy in the range of 12 to 16 km/l.

Space is a strong point. The Saga is a proper sedan with five seats and a 420-litre boot, so a small family gets room the hatchbacks at this price cannot match. Even the base Standard MT comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, power windows, power steering, central locking, keyless entry and rear parking sensors.

The mid-range Standard AT adds the automatic gearbox for an extra Rs 200,000, which is the variant most family buyers pick. The top Ace AT, at Rs 4,099,000, adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED daytime running lights, front parking sensors, a reverse camera, traction control and electronic stability control.

Proton also backs the car with a 5-year or 150,000 km warranty, which was one of the longest warranty offers in the market when the car launched. Colours on offer include Snow White, Armour Silver, Jet Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red and Quartz Black.

How prices changed over time

It helps to know how the Saga got to this price. When Proton Pakistan launched the car in April 2021, the ex-factory prices were Rs 1,975,000 for the Standard MT, Rs 2,125,000 for the Standard AT and Rs 2,225,000 for the Ace AT. A limited-edition R3 sporty variant was also offered in 100 CBU units. In July 2021, when local assembly (CKD) started and duties were cut, prices dropped by Rs 50,000 across the board. Since then, several price increases have brought the lineup to Rs 3,749,000 to Rs 4,099,000 in 2026. The old prices you see on some sites are from the 2021 launch and no longer apply.

A note on the all-new 2026 Saga

Proton launched a fully redesigned Saga, called the Saga MC3, in Malaysia in November 2025 with a 1.5-litre engine, a fresh design and more safety tech. As of October 2026, there is no announcement that this new model is coming to Pakistan, and Proton Pakistan is still selling the current 1.3-litre model. We will update this page if the new Saga is launched here.

Proton Saga vs the competition

The Saga fights in the most crowded segment in Pakistan. Its main rivals are the Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Changan Alsvin, Kia Picanto and Suzuki Cultus. Most of these rivals cost more, which is where the Saga wins: you get a sedan body, decent equipment and a long warranty for less money. The trade-off is resale value. Honda and Toyota hold their value better, and their parts and service networks are wider. Buyers who plan to sell the car in two or three years should weigh that before deciding. If you are stepping up from a hatchback and plan to keep the car for a long time, the Saga makes a strong case. For buyers who want a bigger, more established sedan, the Toyota Corolla remains the default choice, though it sits in a higher price bracket.

Should you buy the Proton Saga?

Buy the Saga if you want the cheapest new sedan in the market and you value space, a long warranty and straightforward running costs. Pick the Standard AT if you drive in city traffic every day, and the Ace AT if you want the full safety and comfort kit. Think twice if strong resale value and a big service network matter most to you, or if you need a more modern gearbox than the 4-speed automatic. At Rs 3,749,000 to Rs 4,099,000, it remains one of the most value-for-money new cars you can book in Pakistan today.

  • Cheapest new sedan in its class, with real sedan space and a 420-litre boot
  • Locally assembled by Al-Haj Automotive with a 5-year / 150,000 km warranty
  • Good standard kit: dual airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, keyless entry
  • Simple, proven 1.3-litre engine with reasonable 12 to 16 km/l fuel economy
  • Ace AT adds alloys, touchscreen, reverse camera, ESC and traction control
  • 4-speed automatic feels old next to CVT rivals
  • Only two airbags on the base variants
  • Resale value is weaker than Honda and Toyota rivals
  • Smaller dealership and parts network than the big brands
  • Interior quality and infotainment feel dated at this price
