Core i5 Laptop Price in Pakistan

If you walk into a laptop shop in Pakistan today and ask for a “Core i5 laptop”, you will be quoted everything from Rs. 54,999 for a used Dell Latitude to Rs. 296,500 for an i7 gaming machine the seller tries to upsell you to. The badge alone tells you almost nothing. What matters is the generation, whether the chip is a power-saving U-series or a performance H-series, and whether the machine is new with a warranty or a fresh-import used unit.

Quick answer: A new Core i5 laptop in Pakistan starts at about Rs. 139,999 (ASUS Vivobook 15, Core i5-1335U). Sane money for a new mainstream i5 is Rs. 143,500 to Rs. 175,000. A used Core i5 business laptop runs from about Rs. 45,000 (8th generation) to Rs. 82,000 (11th generation). Prices checked on Pakistani sellers on 1 October 2026.

For most people, Core i5 is the sweet spot. It handles office work, online classes, browsing with fifty tabs open, light photo editing and coding without breaking a sweat. You only need to step up to Core i7 if you are editing video daily, compiling large projects, or gaming with a proper graphics card. We have a separate Core i7 laptop price in Pakistan guide for that.

HP Victus 15 (gaming) i5-13420H, RTX 4050, 16GB, 512GB SSD 276,990 to 277,900 PakLap (see our full guide)

Two things stand out from this table. First, the current retail crop is 13th generation, not 12th: the shops have largely moved on, and 13th Gen i5 machines are priced the same or lower than the older stock. Second, there is a hard split between thin-and-light i5 laptops (Rs. 140,000 to Rs. 175,000) and gaming i5 laptops with an RTX graphics card (Rs. 240,000 and up). There is very little in between, so decide which camp you are in before you start comparing prices.

The i5 laptops we would actually buy new

ASUS Vivobook 15 X1504VA, from Rs. 139,999. This is the cheapest genuine new Core i5 we could verify with a mainstream seller, and it is a current model with the i5-1335U, 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. It is the one we send students and office buyers to first. Read our dedicated ASUS Vivobook 15 price in Pakistan page for the full seller comparison.

HP Pavilion 15 EG3148NIA, Rs. 174,999. Same i5-1335U chip, but a better-built body and a touchscreen. Worth the extra money if the laptop will live on your desk for four or five years. Full details in our HP Pavilion 15 price in Pakistan guide.

HP Victus 15, Rs. 276,990 to Rs. 277,900. If your i5 budget stretches to gaming, this pairing of an i5-13420H with an RTX 4050, 16GB RAM and a 144Hz screen is the benchmark at this price. We checked it against several sellers in our HP Victus 15 price in Pakistan article. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (i5-12500H, RTX 3050) at Rs. 248,999 to Rs. 254,999 is the step just below it, covered in our ASUS TUF Gaming F15 price in Pakistan page.

Used Core i5 laptops: where the real bargains are

Half the Core i5 laptops sold in Pakistan never touch a retail shelf. They are ex-corporate machines imported in bulk and sold through shops in Hafeez Center Lahore, Naz Plaza Karachi and on OLX. Condition varies, but a good unit is the best value in this whole guide.

Used machine Configuration Asking price (Rs.) Listed on
Lenovo ThinkPad X390 i5 8th Gen 45,000 OLX
Dell Latitude 5310 i5 10th Gen, 8/256 54,999 OLX
Dell Latitude 7490 i5 8th Gen 58,000 OLX
HP EliteBook 840 G5 i5 8th Gen 59,000 to 60,000 OLX
HP EliteBook 840 G8 i5 11th Gen, 8/256 75,000 to 82,000 OLX and trader listings

Read those prices as asking prices, not fixed tags. OLX sellers expect negotiation, and the same EliteBook 840 G8 can be Rs. 75,000 from one trader and Rs. 95,000 with 16GB RAM and a bigger SSD from another. What you are paying for at the top of the used range is memory, storage and battery health, not the badge. Generation matters more than anything else here: an 11th Gen i5 is roughly twice as fast as an 8th Gen i5 in multi-core work and carries Intel Iris Xe graphics instead of the old UHD chip, which is why we do not blend their prices into one band. If your work is documents and browsing, the 8th Gen machines at Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000 are honestly enough. If you want the laptop to feel quick in 2029, buy the 11th Gen.

U-series, H-series and other i5 traps

Shops love quoting “Core i5” without the suffix, because the gap between chips is huge. The i5-1335U and i5-13420H are both “13th Gen Core i5”, but the H chip has far more performance cores and pulls more than double the power. U-series is what you want for battery life and a slim body. H-series is what you want for gaming, rendering and heavy multitasking, and it only makes sense paired with a dedicated graphics card. Also check RAM: 8GB is the floor today, and several slim models have it soldered, so you cannot upgrade later. A 512GB SSD is the sensible minimum; avoid anything still shipping with a 256GB drive if you keep large files.

If your total budget is under one lakh, skip the new market entirely and read our best laptops under Rs. 100,000 in Pakistan guide. If you are shopping older stock specifically, our 11th generation laptop price in Pakistan and 12th generation laptop price in Pakistan pages break down what each generation is actually worth.

  • New i5 laptops start at Rs. 139,999 with current 13th Gen chips, so there is no reason to overpay for old retail stock.
  • A used 11th Gen business i5 at Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 82,000 gives you performance close to a new budget laptop for half the money.
  • i5 covers almost every job: office, study, coding, light editing and, with an RTX card, proper gaming.
  • The plain “Core i5” label hides big gaps between U-series and H-series chips and between generations.
  • Many new i5 laptops ship with 8GB RAM, sometimes soldered, which limits future upgrades.
  • Used prices vary a lot between traders for the same model, so you must negotiate and check battery health in person.

Frequently asked questions

What is the starting price of a new Core i5 laptop in Pakistan?

About Rs. 139,999 for the ASUS Vivobook 15 with an i5-1335U, verified on PakLap in October 2026. Dell Inspiron and Lenovo V15 models with similar chips start a little higher at Rs. 143,500 to Rs. 149,500.

Is a used Core i5 laptop worth buying?

Yes, if it is 8th generation or newer and you check it properly. An HP EliteBook 840 G5 at Rs. 59,000 or an 11th Gen EliteBook 840 G8 at Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 82,000 will outlast a brand-new Celeron laptop costing similar money.

Which Core i5 is best for gaming?

An H-series chip like the i5-13420H paired with at least an RTX 4050. The HP Victus 15 at Rs. 276,990 to Rs. 277,900 is the reference point in Pakistan right now.

Should I buy 12th Gen or 13th Gen i5?

Whichever is cheaper with the screen and RAM you want. Shops have mostly moved to 13th Gen, and we found 13th Gen machines priced at or below 12th Gen leftovers, so do not pay a premium for the older chip.

How much RAM do I need with a Core i5?

16GB if you can stretch to it, 8GB as a minimum. If the model has soldered RAM, buy the 16GB version from day one.
